MONTE PALACE, Madeira Japanese Gardens
Monte Palace Gardens on the Island of Madeira can be reached by cable car from the Funchal seafront. The views from the cable car are stunning and the gardens are wonderful. There is a new cable car from Monte to the Botanical Gardens, but it is easier to get there by bus or taxi.
